Conference “The City as Destiny”: Senior Housing, Florence 2023

On March 21, 2023, the conference “The City as Destiny” was held in the conference room at Corso Italia 24 in Florence, a key event dedicated to reflection on the future of cities and new forms of living. Speakers included Roberto Tribuno, who presented a talk focused on the topic of senior housing, illustrating housing solutions designed for self-sufficient and semi-self-sufficient seniors.

Tribuno spoke about the project underway in Milan, on Viale Fulvio Testi, on the site ex Manifattura Tobacco, where work is well underway to build a 120-bed Nursing Home and a complex of 28 protected apartments for elderly people. An innovative model that responds to the needs of an increasingly long-lived society, with the aim of ensuring autonomy, security, and quality of life.

The conference also addressed other highly topical issues such as social housing, urban safety, bureaucratic difficulties in implementing projects, the redevelopment of urban areas, the depopulation of historic centers, the development of smart cities, and the protection of the right to live in unpolluted cities, with particular attention to privacy and environmental sustainability.
